Requirements for your Boat Rental in Lake Wylie
To rent any of our pontoons, you MUST be over the age of 25 and have previous experience driving a boat (or someone on board must be over 25 and have experience driving a boat). You do not need a state-issued boater’s license.
The driver must have prior boat driving experience. NO exceptions.
Driving Lessons are offered if needed. Book online.
All of our pontoons are exactly the same layout. All of our pontoons only comfortably hold 10 people. The max capacity of all the boats is 10 people or 1450 lbs, whichever comes first. If, with eight people, you are still over 1400 lbs, you need to consider bringing fewer people.
Only the main renter and any driver is required to submit a waiver which acts as a boat rental agreement and a release of liability. Once you book your reservation, a digital waiver will be emailed to you. We hold this digital waiver on file.
ALL pontoon renters and any operators MUST be at least 25 years of age and must watch all our boating safety videos. You will need to sign a contract stating that you have seen all safety videos. Please see our FAQs for more issues related to boating safety.
Excessive Cleaning Fee
If you return a boat with excess sand/mud, trash, food crumbs, marks on the seats, etc., we will charge a $25 cleaning fee. We rent the newest pontoon boats of any rental company on the lake. We respect our customers and would hope they would respect our pontoons!
We rent year round at Riverside Marina, located at 1500 River Drive, Belmont, N.C. 28012. We operate by appointment only, so there will be no one at the dock unless you have booked a reservation.
Once you book your rental date, you can cancel and get a full refund or request an alternate date anytime prior to seven days before the rental date. Anytime within six to two days prior to your reservation we will refund you 75% of your rental fee. You can not cancel or reschedule within two days of the reservation date. No-shows or canceling the day of will be charged the full rental rate. For our bad weather policy, please see our FAQs.
Bad Weather Policy
In the instance of bad weather, we make weather decisions early the morning of the date. We do not cancel or reschedule reservations based on forecasted weather prior to the day of (other than in extreme cases). In the instance of bad weather we will reschedule or issue a 100% refund to a Gift Card you can use for any future date with us.
Items to Note
- Half Day rental times are 10am-2pm or 3pm-7pm (we can not adjust these in the summer)
- Full Day rental time is 10am-6pm
- Holidays include Mother’s Day weekend, Memorial Day weekend, Father’s Day weekend, July 4th week, and Labor Day weekend.
